Billy George Mitchell Sr's Obituary
Billy George Mitchell, Sr. (“Bill”) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on November 25, 2021. Bill was born on February 5, 1946 in Vinita, Oklahoma to Edgar LaRoy Mitchell and Margaret Parris Mitchell. He attended school in Neloganey, Oklahoma and Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Bill received an Associates Degree from Tulsa Community College. His career included working in law enforcement, security and private investigations He began his career in law enforcement with the Osage County Sheriff’s Office. Later he worked security for Oral Roberts University and Cherokee Nation and deputy sheriff for Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office. He was currently employed as an investigator for Smolen and Roytman Law Office, Smolen Law Office and Hughes Lumber Company.
Bill is survived by his wife of 22 years, Gloria Villasenor Mitchell, his son, Billy George Mitchell, Jr. of Glencoe, Oklahoma, and step children, Lisa Morrow of LaVergne, Tennessee, Gayla Carnagey of Owasso, Oklahoma and Johnny Wayne Boone of Immokalee, Florida. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Ouida and Pete Galvin of Coweta, Oklahoma; sisters-in-law Vicki Mitchell of Gilbert, Arizona and Sue Mitchell of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Grandchildren, Taylor Boone, Chris Morrow, Trey Boone, Trevor Boone, Chelsey Morrow, Tarra Boone and Rylie Boone; 4 great grandchildren (Ja’Dayah, Judessa, Cassie and LaTarra) of Immoklaee, Florida and several cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of close friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Brian Edward Mitchell; brothers, Roy and Ray Mitchell; sisters Gloria Cooksey and Jodi Carr and brother-in-law Don Cooksey.
Interment will be at a later date in Pawhuska, Oklahoma.
