Billy Joe Seabolt's Obituary
Billy Joe Seabolt of Broken Arrow, born April 24, 1932, went to Heaven peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at home. He was a member of Bethany Free Will Baptist Church in Broken Arrow for over 45 years. Bill grew up in Tamaha, Oklahoma and graduated from Stigler High School. He married Edna Pearson on January 28, 1956 and served in the United States Army while stationed in California. He then returned to Oklahoma and graduated from Northeastern State University with a Masters degree in Education. Bill taught Industrial Arts at Tulsa Public Schools for 20 years and could build or fix anything. He loved carpentry work and built the family home over a period of three years while he was teaching. After his retirement in 1984, Bill went on a trip to Africa with fellow Bethany member Don Allen to do building projects for local missionaries. He was a wonderful husband to Edna, his loving wife of 59 years. They enjoyed traveling together, including many cruises all around the world. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester William and Hattie (Hamlin) Seabolt; brothers, Leo and Herman Seabolt; sister, Deloris. Left to cherish his memory are: wife, Edna of Broken Arrow; son, Billy (Claire) Seabolt of Virginia; daughter, Becky (Ron) Miron of South Dakota; sisters, Danna Everhart of Midwest City and Sherri (Rick) Prentice of Coweta; grandchildren, Jeremiah Miron, Zach Miron, Tripp Seabolt, Jessica Seabolt, and Knox Seabolt; as well as many other family members and good friends. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 11, from 6 – 8 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home, 6500 S. 129th E. Avenue in Broken Arrow. Service will be held at 2 PM at Bethany Free Will Baptist Church, 100 N. Olive Avenue in Broken Arrow on Thursday, March 12. Interment to follow at Floral Haven Cemetery.
