Billy Sowells' Obituary
Billy Ned Sowells, 86 of Claremore, Oklahoma passed from this life on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 in Tulsa with family by his side. He was born August 17, 1934 in Locust Grove, Oklahoma to his parents, Basil Green Sowells and Ruby Helen Dobson Sowells (Leigh).
Billy is a veteran of the United States Navy and worked in sales. His passion was restoring antique John Deere tractors.
Billy is survived by children, Tana Welsh and her husband Ed of Claremore, Oklahoma, Jolie Pressler and her husband Waylon of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Four siblings, John Leigh, Beulah Wells, Racheal Updegraff and Bobby Leigh; seven grandchildren, Brad Sowells, Heather Dark, Tara Bunney, Brynnan Sowells, Jessica Alley, Jordyn Welsh, Amanda Willinger, Krista Carrico and Sierra Cheyenne. Great-grandchildren, Braden, Lauren, Jaxon, Jaylen, Hayden, Hudson, Aiden, Zac, Braxton, Kennedy, Marshall, Kole, Kale, Kyler and a very special niece, Carol Rice; and many friends and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father; his mother, Ruby Leigh; Step father: Cecil Leigh, his wife, Linda Sowells; his son, Billy Joe Sowells; and his brother, Leon Leigh.
Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Floral Haven's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will take place at 12 p.m. following the service at Oak Haven Memorial Gardens in Claremore, Oklahoma.
