Billy Wayne Stephens' Obituary
Billy “Bill” Wayne Stephens was born on November 4, 1946, in Crescent, Oklahoma, to Matt and Nellie Stephens. He passed May 28, 2026 in Tulsa, OK.
Bill worked as a welder for 46 years and took great pride in his career. He was praised for his ability to consistently and perfectly weld very difficult materials that were required to pass highly critical X-ray tests. In his free time, he enjoyed playing pool at the Senior Citizens Center, where he formed many lasting friendships. He also competed in and won numerous Senior Pool Tournaments in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas. He earned numerous trophies over the years, including a 1st place trophy for winning The Four State Tournament.
Bill loved fishing and bow hunting with his son during deer season and treasured the time they spent together outdoors. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife to visit their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating many wonderful memories filled with laughter and conversation.
Bill will be remembered for his love of family, his friendships, and the many happy memories he shared with those he loved.
Bill is preceded in death by his first wife Tresa Stephens, parents, brothers Joe and James Stephens, sisters Dorothy Mayberry, Betty Newnam, Florence Woods, Majorie Liming, and Jeanie Boggs.
Bill is survived by his wife Shirley Stephens, son Paul Stephens (Allana), sister Mary Ninness, brother Melvin Stephens, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026 from 3-6 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home
Celebration of life will be held Friday, June 5th, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home
