Bob Long's Obituary
Bob Long, born March 8, 1929, in Mountain View, Arkansas to Theodore “Buddy” and Seddie Long passed away on March 1, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bob was a loving husband, father, and friend, known for his work ethic, his kindness, and his unwavering love for his family.
Bob married his beloved wife, Mary, on September 2, 1953, in Claremore, Oklahoma. Together, they built a life filled with love, joy, and cherished memories. Bob’s greatest pride was his family, his greatest gift was his daughter, Debbie, who was born on his birthday. A father to be proud of, he was deeply devoted to his family and provided guidance, support, and unconditional love throughout his life.
A proud veteran, Bob served two years in the U.S. Army, a chapter in his life that left an indelible mark. After his service, he worked as an electrician, spending 32 years at Rockwell where he earned the respect and admiration of his coworkers. Bob's skills and commitment to his craft were matched only by his determination to make a difference wherever he worked, including his time with DuCat Services and as a valet parking attendant.
Bob had a passion for University of Tulsa sports, especially football, and loved all things athletic. His enthusiasm extended beyond sports, as he was known for his love of Christmas with his family, and of course, ice cream and chocolate candy. His work ethic and sense of humor made him a joy to be around, and he found fulfillment in both his career and the time spent with his family and friends.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, sister Nellie Kendrick, brother Charlie Long, sister Ruby “Billie” Scrivner, sister Essie Siders, sister Mary Jeff “Tootsie” Kendrick, son in law Jim Hoffman.
