Bob Renord Poston's Obituary
Bobby Renord Poston, a resident of Tulsa, passed away April 24, 2016 at the age of 84. He was born December 6, 1931 to Luther and Bessie (Knight) Poston in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Bob enjoyed fishing and bowling but his favorite pastime was spending time and helping take care of Fire Station 13 in Tulsa. He would visit with his fireman friends every day and eat breakfast with them. They also made Bob an honorary fireman, at which he was very excited to accept. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nina Poston; parents, Luther and Bessie Poston; one sister and one brother. Survivors include his daughter, Michelle A. Newman and husband, Paul of Tulsa; son, Dr. Brick Ayola and wife, Dr. Sherry Becker of Gurnee, IL; four grandchildren, Brittny Walker and husband, Thomas, Trevor Newman and fiancé, Hannah Wright, Kelsey Newman and Amy Myers; one great grandchild, Maryna Myers; sister, Marlene Buker and husband, Phil of Owasso; numerous nieces and nephews and treasured family friend, Clarence Thomas. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow. Burial will follow the service at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. Family will greet friends Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clarence Thomas, James Walker, Joe Garzone, Dan Newton and the Firemen of Station 13. Honors and Military Honors will be conducted by the Fire Station 13 in Tulsa and the United States Navy. The family would like to thank Caregiver Terrie Cooper, who took wonderful care of Bob.
