Reverend Bob Rhoades' Obituary
Evangelist Bob Rhoades, 84, of Tulsa, Oklahoma entered the arms of Jesus on Monday, October 18th. Bob was born in Marydel, Maryland on August 8, 1926 and grew up in Wilmington, Delaware. He served in the Army Infantry commanded by General Patton during World War II. He was an expert light machine gun operator and an expert infantry rifleman and was awarded medals and ribbons for his service in the Armed Forces. Bob was also a pilot in the DelawareCivil Air Patrol. He spent several years as a General Contractor before accepting Jesus as His Savior. After accepting the Ministry Call of God on his life he attended Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri and became an ordained Minister. While in College, he met and married the love of his life, Betty and together they launched into full time Evangelistic Ministry holding Crusades in Tents, Auditoriums and Churches across the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico and other Countries. Their Mission outreach also included Bi-Lingual Crusades in major Inner Cities. His Ministry also included pioneering Churches and starting Bible Schools. Their two daughters Robin and Kim, were born along the Evangelistic Trail and became an integral part of the Family Ministry team as Musicians, Gospel Recording Artists and Ordained Ministers preaching in all of their Dad's Crusades. Rev. Rhoades is survived by his wife Betty of 48 years, daughters Robin Rhoades and Kim Rhoades of Tulsa, a sister Louise and her husband Bob Allen of Delaware. Rev. Rhoades' Evangelistic Ministry continues on through his daughters Robin and Kim and his wife Betty as they spread the Gospel Message around the world. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Rhoades Ministry to continue the Ministry Crusades and Mission Outreaches. Viewing and visitation with the family will be at Floral Haven Funeral Home, Broken Arrow, OklahomaThursday, October 21st, 6 to 9 PM. Graveside Service will be Friday at 11:30 AM at Floral Haven and a Memorial Service will be held Friday at Victory Christian Center in Tulsa at 1:00 P.M.
