Bobbie Taylor's Obituary
Bobbie Lee (Bob) Taylor, 82, of Locust Grove, OK, passed away on March 14, 2020, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Floral Haven Funeral Home (Rose Chapel), 6500 S. 129th E. Ave., Broken Arrow, OK. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March, 18, 2020 from 5:00 – 7: 00 pm, also at Floral Haven.
Bob was born in Clifty, AR on March 7, 1938 to Arthur M.Taylor and Ruth Helen (Warren) Taylor. He graduated from Central High School in Tulsa where he was a state champion wrestler and subsequently attended the University of Oklahoma on a wrestling scholarship.
After leaving OU, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged achieving the rank of Lance Corporal.
Bob worked in the Finance and Insurance industries for many years and became a bail bondsman in his later career, which he continued to do until just weeks before his death. He enjoyed being in the outdoors and especially enjoyed camping and hiking with his family.
Bob is survived by his sister, Sharlene Calhoun (Loy) of Tulsa, OK, 3 children, Mark Taylor (Rhonda) of Owasso, OK, Robert Taylor of Chicago, IL and Teresa York (Victor) of Broken Arrow, OK, 6 grandchildren, Jeremy Taylor (Amy) of Cave Springs, AR, Jenna Carter (Greg) of Melissa, TX, Blake Taylor (Madison) of Owasso, OK, Taylor York (Shelby) of Coweta, OK, Rachel Estes (Taylor) of Broken Arrow, OK and Rebekah Standerfer (Shane) of Oklahoma City, OK, nine great grandchildren and his former wife of 36 years, Gwen Taylor of Broken Arrow, OK.
Bob is preceded in death by his Father Art his Mother Helen and 2 Brothers Albert and Vernon.
