Bobby Gene Jenkins' Obituary
Jenkins, Bobby Gene, 80, passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. He was born on June 30, 1928 to Frank and Ethel Jenkins in Coalgate, Oklahoma. He married Sharon Colton on June 8, 1957 and they were married 28 years. Bobby was an overseas pipeline welder for Brown and Root. A rough and tough Idaho Cowboy, Bob was a nature lover and enjoyed many years ranching on his acreage in Northfork, Idaho, raising and working with his horses, also enjoying big game hunting. He traveled the world extensively, but was most content on his ranch in Idaho. He had a gift of making anyone in his presence feel special. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carl Jenkins and Thurston Jenkins; sisters, Dorothy Burdette, Velma McCorkle, and Helen McCorkle. He is survived by his children, Bobby Jenkins and wife Debbie of New Braunfels, Texas, Rebecca Jenkins of Columbus, Indiana, and Quanah Wiemer and husband Bill of Asotin, Washington; sisters, Mavis Hodges and husband Tom, and Freda Casey, both of Sand Springs, OK; grandchildren, Nicholas Combs and wife Jennifer, Zachary Jenkins, Cameron Jenkins, Jamie Evans and husband, Karl, Kayla Winters, Keenan Winters, Leslie Winters, Dustin Jenkins, and Megan Howell; great-grandchildren, Addison Evans, Landon Evans, Colton Evans, Emma Combs, Abby Combs, and Aubrey Jenkins; special nieces and nephews, Diane Hughes, Richard McCorkle, Janie Montgomery, Connie Barger, Tommy Hodges, Vicki Wilson, Patti Hodges, all of Oklahoma. A special thank you to Laura and Suzanne with Evergreen Hospice for their expedient assistance, care, and compassion for Bob and his family. A Celebration of Bob’s life was held at 10 A.M., Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Interment at Lehigh Cemetery in Lehigh, Oklahoma next to his mother.
