Bobby Lester Singer's Obituary
Bobby Lester Singer ObituaryBobby Lester Singer, lovingly known to his family as ‘Pap’, was born on February 6th, 1929 to Guy Oscar Singer and Leaster DeVallison Wilkinson of Little Dixie, OK and passed away on September 17th, 2016. A lifelong Broken Arrow resident, Bobby graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1946 and later that year married Sue Kathryn Lundy, with whom he raised two children, Bobby Lee Singer and Sue Ann Singer (Gaddy). After Sue Kathryn’s passing in 1972, Bobby later met and married Helen Marie Cooper, to whom he would remain married until her passing in 2012.No stranger to hard work, Bobby served as a route salesman for Rainbo Bakery for over 30 years, known by many in BA and Tulsa as “the curly headed bread man” who brought a smile every morning along with the bread delivery. After retiring from Rainbo to tend to his farm in Broken Arrow, Bobby remained a staple of the community, providing produce to the community co-op and serving on the board of Rural Water District No. 5 for nearly 15 years.Bobby was happiest when he was surrounded by his family, whether that be in his younger years, spending time with his kids at rodeos and car races or later in life when he would host Thanksgiving dinner for dozens of extended family members, friends and neighbors. A true patriarch, his generosity and loyalty to his family was unprecedented. Whether it was a nugget of wisdom, a dash of humor or a dose of tough love, all one had to do was ask and he would be there with whatever was needed. All those who knew him were always welcome in his home and could often find him on his porch relaxing after a long day of working the fields, full from Helen’s famous fried chicken, watching the sunset while they traded playful banter.Bobby was proud to be Pap to numerous great grandchildren, nephews and nieces, cousins and especially his six grandchildren, Ashley Gaddy Shipley, Ian Gaddy and Grant Gaddy who are children of his daughter Sue Ann Singer Gaddy, as well as John Singer, Becky Taylor and the late Bobby Don Singer, the children of his son Bobby Lee Singer. All of the family will miss Pap and cherish the memories of his smile, his laugh and the love he had for his family.Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM, Friday, September 30th, Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with a reception to follow at the Floral Haven Family Center.
