Bobby Lee McFall's Obituary
Bobby Lee McFall was born April 19, 1935 in Rogers, Arkansas, son of John Robert McFall and Dorothy Lena (Langston) McFall. Bobby spent his boyhood in Rogers growing up in the country with his little sister Carolyn, near many close aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous childhood friends whom he remained close to throughout his life. Bobby passed away peacefully in his sleep October 14, 2018 with family nearby.Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Joyce, daughter Kelly Gideon, son-in-law Scott Gideon, son Larry Brent McFall, granddaughters Katherine Gideon and Sarah Gideon Isbell, and husband Gordon Isbell, brother-in-law Donald Clark, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents John Robert and Dorothy McFall and his only sister Carolyn Clark.Bobby graduated from Rogers High School in 1953. It was there he met his wife Joyce Kelly and they were married November 19, 1955. Bob and Joyce moved to Tulsa after marriage where Bob began his 42 years of service with Oklahoma Natural Gas. He held numerous positions while at ONG, retiring in 1997 as a manager of Engineering Services. His career began in Tulsa but he later moved his young family to Sand Springs where the children grew up and he and Joyce still reside. Bob enjoyed Friday night bowling and softball with the Petroleum League during his ONG years. While at ONG, he was also a member of many professional organizations. Bob was a member of Sand Springs United Methodist Church and was involved in many community organizations over the years.Bobby loved his family above all else, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Children Kelly and Larry will cherish the memories of a thoughtful and selfless father, lots of family vacations spent at the lake camping, boating, and water skiing. Granddaughters Katherine and Sarah will remember a grandfather always there for life’s celebrations-birthdays, graduations, and accomplishments. After retirement, Bob and Joyce later traveled by RV with the grandchildren to family favorites Sequoyah State Park and San Antonio. Destin, Florida was always a summer destination and snow skiing in Colorado with the Hewgley and Ferguson families always brought joy to Bob. Bob also loved spending time together over the holidays with family and longtime friend, Frank Douglas.Bob loved his Arkansas Razorbacks and was an avid fan his entire life. He enjoyed traveling to Fayetteville to footballs games often with family and friends. He became a temporary Oklahoma Sooner “fan” while daughter and granddaughter were attending school there but was happy to return his OU ballcap after graduations. He enjoyed many a Dad’s weekend at Oklahoma State University with Larry and the men of Phi Delta Theta. Bob also loved gardening with a large vegetable garden every year and beautiful flowers. He enjoyed and took immense pride in his outdoor holiday decorations. Bob was also a pet lover. Dusty and Razzle were his constant companions in the yard. He also enjoyed visiting his many grand dogs.Bob will always be remembered as a kind and gentle man who took care of generations of family and friends. He will be deeply missed but his family and friends will cherish the memories and keep them close.Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2018 at the Sand Springs United Methodist Church with Reverend Don Tabberer officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Sand Springs United Methodist Church or to your charity of choice.
