Bobby Lynn Waugh
Bobby Lynn Waugh, 87, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. Bobby was born in 1934, in Hardy, Miss. Bobby’s parents were Howard Bynum Waugh Sr. & Lina Whitten Waugh. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Howard B. Waugh Jr. Bobby & his family moved to Tulsa in 1950.
He attended Tulsa Central High School where he lettered in football & track. He won the All-City & All-Conference honors in football. Bobby holds the record for the longest kick-off return in Round Robin history – 90 yds. Bobby ran on the 880-relay team, winning the state championship in track in 1952. He attended Tulsa University with a football scholarship, graduating in 1956.
In 1957, he married his sweetheart, Carol Maloy, of Tulsa. They were married for 50 years before Carol passed away. They had 3 children, Michael Kevin, Cynthia Lynn, & Darren Curtis. He married Paula Nicholson Jones in 2008. They were happily married for the rest of his life. He was a member of the TU Letterman’s Club. He worked in marketing for various oil companies through the years. Over the years, he coached Jr. High football, taught Sunday School, & was a fanatical fisherman. He was a member of Woodland Acres Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Paula, his children, daughter-in-law, Renae, son-in-law, Bailey, grandchildren Mykah, Sarah & Alex, brothers-in-law Rex, Roy, & Carl Maloy, sister-in-law, Ruby Waugh, & several nieces & nephews.
Services will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 20, at 12:30 PM. If you choose, a donation to Woodland Acres Baptist Church can be made in lieu of flowers.
