Bonnie Lucille Conger's Obituary
Bonnie Lucille Conger was born March 23, 1933, to Elizabeth and Lester Sanders in Stilwell, Oklahoma. She passed from this life on Sunday, April 17, 2011 in Tulsa. She graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa in 1951. She married her high school sweetheart, Norman Lee Conger, on November 3, 1950, and they had recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Bonnie and Norman lived in Ponca City for 28 years. She cherished this time as an opportunity to be a homemaker and an at home mother for her three children. She was a member of the Delta Mother's Club, and she had the opportunity to serve as President of this club. She enjoyed lifelong friendships that were established during this time. Bonnie was active as a volunteer during the time that she lived in Ponca City. She was a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship at the First Christian Church, and she was a guide at the Marland Mansion. She was very active in CASA, a court program that provides support for young children who have been victims of neglect or abuse. These children always had a special place in her heart. As her children were getting older, Bonnie decided to return to school. She received an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Northern Oklahoma College in May of 1979. She worked at the Bi-State Mental Health Clinic in Ponca City, and also enjoyed the opportunity to work in the office of Dr. Jim Thomas, a psychologist. Bonnie moved to Austin, Texas when Norman retired from Continental Oil Company in 1985. During the time that she lived in Austin, she and Norman were active in the Koenig Lane Christian Church. They enjoyed this time as they attended country music concerts and festivals throughout Texas, and made numerous wild flower tours each year. When Norman retired in 1990, they enjoyed several years of travel throughout the United States and Canada in their RV. They also enjoyed trips to the Caribbean, Australia, and the Panama Canal! Bonnie is survived by son, Alan Conger and wife Pat, son, Norman Conger and wife, Pam, and daughter, Debra Cross; five grandchildren, Bonnie Mersiovsky, Cole Conger, Leah Conger, Allison Conger and Jordan Roselle; three great grandchildren, Madison Mersiovsky, Holden Mersiovsky, and Trip Bendell; three siblings, Myrna Cothran and husband Lonnie, Earl Sanders and wife, Barbara, and David Gay and wife, Sandy. She was preceded in death by husband, Norman lee Conger; Parents, Lester Sanders and Elizabeth Guthrie.
