Bonnie Graves' Obituary
Bonnie Louise Graves, 89, passed away in Owasso, OK, on October 7, 2024.
She was born on May 11, 1935, in Quay, OK, to Cleo and Pansy Coke. Bonnie grew up in Quay and graduated from Quay High School in 1953. She was an excellent student and was the salutatorian of her class. Her favorite sport was basketball and she was a very competitive player with the Quay Wolves. Bonnie spent her time after school helping care for four younger siblings, doing housework and various chores on the family farm. After graduation Bonnie began working for Bell Telephone Company in Yale, OK. Shortly afterward she moved to Tulsa and attended business school. She worked for Bell/ATT in Tulsa her entire career and retired in 1997.
Bonnie met Bob Graves in Tulsa and they married in 1961. They lived in Berryhill and Prattville most of their lives. They had much in common and especially liked going to the lake with family and friends. Boating, skiing and fishing were enjoyed almost every weekend during the summertime. They hosted many holiday events but the 4th of July gathering every year was the best remembered. Her many nieces and nephews still recall the fireworks they happily exploded on Bob and Bonnie's carefully manicured lawn.
Bonnie spent years researching the genealogy of her family. She made copies of her work in book form and dispersed them to her relatives. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bonnie was a member of the Allen Free Will Baptist Church of Sapulpa where she attended regularly. She will be missed by so many.
Bonnie is predeceased by her parents, husband Bob and brothers Leroy, Carl, Earl and Paul Coke.
