Bonnie L. Wood's Obituary
Bonnie L. Wood, 78, Charlotte, NC, died on April 24, 2014. She was born July 10, 1935, in Falls City, NE, the daughter of Bernard Webb, Sr., and Opal (Taylor) Webb. After moving with her family to Kansas City, KS, she attended and graduated from Washington High School in 1953 where she met the love of her life Richard “Dale” Wood. Bonnie and Dale were married in 1954 and started a family resulting in four sons. Upon Dale’s employment with Chief Freight Lines, the family relocated to Tulsa. Bonnie worked at Saint Francis Hospital for several years, but her calling was to raise her four boys and serve as a wonderful wife to her sweetheart of 57 years before his passing in 2011. She was a loving mother and set an example of walking in the Christian faith. A Tulsa resident for almost 50 years, she had recently relocated to the Charlotte area. Mrs. Wood is survived by her sons Stephen Wood and his wife Janis (Arlington, VA), Terry Wood (Kansas City), and Randy Wood (Tulsa); brothers David Webb (Broken Arrow), Daniel Webb (Kansas City), and Bernard Webb, Jr. (Kansas City); and several granddaughters including Captain Stephanie Wood (S. Korea), Savannah Wood (Tulsa), and one grandson Caleb Wood (Tulsa). A son, Richard Glenn Wood, and a brother, Richard Webb, preceded her in death. A private family service is planned at Floral Haven in Broken Arrow, OK. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Samaritan’s Purse.
