Since Braden's passing I have had quite a few flash backs of life as I knew it growing up next door to him. He was crazy hilarious and had at times the most bizarre ideas to play tricks on people. I remember when April fools day approached he had me over to make cookies with cotton balls cooked in the middle! We played cards and board games regularly as he was quite competitive and liked to win. We rode bicycles around and through Braden park after dark with the other kids in the neighbor hood chasing one another. When his parents moved out of the neighborhood after high school I lost track of him. It really wasn't until (1987) Braden's 20 HS reunion that I knew where he was and what he had been doing. Rest in peace buddy.
When I first arrived at Rogers High, Braden approached me and asked if I would like to go running around at night for some fun. He was a stranger to me but I instantly liked him. I took him up on that offer more than once and I discovered the fun was always there when he was. Braden was the sort of unique personality that moved effortlessly between those insular cliques so omnipresent in high school. After graduation we talked about a year later at an Iron Butterfly concert at the fairgrounds and then years forward we briefly talked at an earlier high school reunion. I attended the more recent Rogers reunions always hoping to find him there for some more lively discussion and fun but I never ran across him again. Braden Park may not be named after him but it should be. Goodbye old friend. Kel Pickens
I have some very fond memories of Braden and our high school antics. Our 20 year reunion was and will continue to be a highlight for me I was able to connect with a fine person. His passing will leave a great void in my heart.
Braden and his family lived next door to my family in White City. I just remember him as a little boy playing with my brother. Now they are both gone. My sympathy to his family
We used to have so much fun at Braden Park. For a long time,I thought the park was named after you, LOL. Rest in Peace.
I WAS SADDENED TO READ ABOUT BRADEN TODAY, IT CAME AS A COMPLETE SURPRISE. THOUGH WE'VE BEEN FRIENDS FOR 50 YEARS, IT HAD BEEN 10 YEARS SINCE WE LAST SAW EACH OTHER. WE BECAME FRIENDS AT BRADEN PARK IN TULSA, SPENDING HAPPY TIMES THERE. I FONDLY REMEMBER PLAYING COUNTLESS CARD GAMES WITH BRADEN AND HIS MOTHER. MY DEEPEST SYMPATHIES TO HIS FAMILY, I HOPE THEY CAN FIND THE STRENGTH TO COPE WITH HIS LOSS.
