Brenda Carolyn Allen's Obituary
Brenda Carolyn Allen, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully entered the arms of Jesus on March 30, 2025. She was welcomed into eternity by her cherished parents, Chester and Esther Taylor, and her three beloved sisters—Patsy Joyner, Nita Moore, and Betty Brooks—who had gone before her.
Brenda was the heart of her family, a woman whose love knew no bounds. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 61 years, Art Allen, affectionately known as "Pa Allen," and their loyal chocolate lab, Bear. She was a loving and supportive mother to her two sons, Craig Allen and his wife, Jodie, of Buford, GA, and Brent Allen and his wife, Teresa, of Mounds, OK. She also leaves behind her brother, Rick Taylor, and his wife, Lori, of Estero, FL.
To her six grandchildren, Brenda was more than a grandmother—she was "Gran Allen", a guiding light, a source of wisdom, and a wellspring of unconditional love. She cherished each of them deeply: Adam Allen of Lexington, OK; Ali Pinto and her husband, Jonathan Pinto, of Tulsa, OK, who will soon welcome the family’s first great-grandchild; Deven Allen of Buford, GA; Annabeth Allen and her fiancé, Austin Jones, of Mounds, OK; Camden Allen of Buford, GA; and Ashten Allen of Buford, GA.
Brenda’s faith was her foundation. Baptized as a young girl at Baptist Tabernacle in Little Rock, Arkansas, she lived every day as a reflection of God’s grace, kindness, and love. A woman of strength and unwavering faith, she was known for her warm heart and generous spirit. She had a deep love for music, and it was woven into every part of her life. She found joy in playing the piano, singing, and dancing until her very last day. She was also a passionate tennis player who played not only with competitive energy but also with a joy that made every match more than just a game.
After moving to Tulsa, Brenda joined Art in the mortgage business , a testament to their dedication and partnership in both life and work. After years of hard work, they enjoyed a well-earned retirement together, making cherished memories with family both at their home in Tulsa and at their cabin on Beaver Lake in Northwest Arkansas.
Brenda’s life will be honored and celebrated in her hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas, at Parkway Place Church at 11:00 am on April 19, 2025, where her journey began. Her love, faith, and kindness touched the lives of so many, and though she will be deeply missed, her legacy will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. In Lieu of flowers please make a donation in her name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
