Brent Cooper's Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Brent Cooper, who left us on October 9, 2025, at the age of 69. Brent was born on November 13, 1955, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, to Carl and Helen Cooper.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathy; his daughter Aimee Cooper; his brother Bradley Cooper; his sister Betsy Schraad and her husband Bill Schraad Jr.; and his nephews Garrett and Hayden Schraad. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Brian Cooper.
Brent grew up in Prague, Oklahoma, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and played on both the football and baseball teams. After graduating from Prague High School in 1974, he attended the University of Oklahoma, earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minor in classical cultures. While at OU, he was a proud member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
Brent was a certified public accountant who spent his entire career in finance and accounting, holding positions at Coopers and Lybrand and Bovaird Supply Company, before retiring as Corporate Treasurer for SemGroup, LLC.
Brent loved traveling to Las Vegas with friends and family. You could often find him at the craps table, employing his own well-honed strategy—perfected over years of play and thousands of rolls. In retirement, he enjoyed day trading stocks, remained an avid OU football fan, and was a certified barbecue contest judge always on the lookout for the next great barbecue spot.
But above all, Brent loved visiting with friends and family. A gifted storyteller, he remembered every detail of life’s events and found joy in sharing stories, laughter, and good company. Nothing brought him more happiness than time spent connecting with those he loved.
A memorial service will be held at Floral Haven in Broken Arrow on Tuesday, October 21 at 10am, followed by a come and go visitation with family from 11am-1pm at the Floral Haven family center.
