Brent Ensor's Obituary
Brent Vernon Ensor, affectionately known by his family as “Poppy,” went home to be with his heavenly Father on Sunday, September 30, 2018. He will be missed fiercely by his family and friends.Brent was a loving and devoted husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather, and was known for his kindness, thoughtfulness, and selflessness. He loved Jesus, he loved his family, and he loved people. He was born on February 1, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Vernon Calvin Ensor and Margaret Mullendore Ensor. He met the love of his life, Kathy Ann (Kane) Ensor at the Central Intelligence Agency and they married on October 24, 1970. After transitioning to the aviation industry, he moved his family to Tulsa, where Brent worked for American Airlines for more than 25 years. During that time, the family made lifelong memories during their traditional family vacations. He took pleasure in finding beauty in nature, and especially loved spending time on the beach at sunset.Brent made time for the important things in life. He was a family man through and through, and never missed an opportunity to attend his son’s activities. While he grew up playing baseball, he learned the game of soccer in order to coach both of his son’s soccer teams. He continued his passionate (and occasionally vociferous) support during his grandsons’ soccer games.Brent was a man of integrity. He was a servant-leader, and always put others needs before his own. He volunteered in various capacities at his church, and was perfectly suited to his role as greeter. He was always willing to give of his time, and looked for ways to help others and demonstrate God’s love. He was a friend to all and loved by many.In his free time, Brent enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending time with his family, cheering on the OSU Cowboys, landscaping, photography, playing disc golf, going to car shows with his friend Rod, and graciously participating – and starring in – family game nights.Brent is survived and celebrated by his loving wife, Kathy, his sons Christian and Jonathan, his daughters-in-law Elisabeth and Savannah, his grandsons Brooklyn, Sullivan, Graeme, and Ansen; his brother, Bruce Ensor and sister-in-law Nancy of Naples, Florida; his sister-in-law, Mary Ellen O’Donnell and her husband David of St. Louis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Margaret Ensor and one sister, Beverly Albers.Visitation will be held from 5pm – 7pm on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Brent’s memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday, October 6, at Life Demonstration Church – all our welcome. Burial will be private at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
