Brian Wayne Cooper's Obituary
Brian Wayne Cooper of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022, in Tulsa, at the age of 65. Brian was born on January 28, 1957, in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He was the son of Carl and Helen (Schwarz) Cooper. Brian grew up in Prague OK and was a 1975 graduate of Prague High School.
Brian attended St. Gregory’s College. He joined the Oklahoma National Guard and later was a member of The United States Navy where he completed nuclear power school. He obtained a Degree in Quality Control Management from Spartan School of Aeronautics.
Brian worked for several years as a mud engineer, a pipeline construction quality control inspector and was for several years the Co-owner of the Delaware Center Liquor Store in Tulsa. Most recently Brian worked at Spirits on Riverside.
Brian was an accomplished cook with a passion for barbeque. He took great pleasure watching people’s reactions when they tasted his food. For several years he contended on the Kansas City Barbeque Society competition circuit.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his brothers Brent Cooper and his wife Kathy of Tulsa, OK, Brad Cooper of Prague, OK; sister Betsy Schraad and her husband Bill of Edmond, OK; niece Aimee Cooper of Broken Arrow, OK; nephews Garrett Schraad of Oklahoma City, OK and Hayden Schraad of Edmond, OK and many cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Brian’s Life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday December 17, 2022, at BurnCo Barbeque in Jenks.
