Brice was the third of five siblings (two older sisters, a younger sister and a little brother). He grew up going to public schools in Muskogee and graduated from Muskogee Central High School in the class of 1952.
Brice began studying at Muskogee Junior College immediately upon graduating high school. He paused his studies in 1953, and enlisted in the United States Air Force where he would serve until 1957. Brice married Barbara Jean Burk on August 24, 1958 and they had three children: Mary, Glenn, and Scott. After Brice graduated college in 1960, he began teaching Art at Hamilton Junior High School, where he taught from 1960-1986.
In 1971, Brice and Barbara moved to Owasso. Shortly after moving to Owasso, the Fergusons began attending First Christian Church (now First Church), where Brice served several years as an elder, and also taught the Truthseekers adult Sunday School class for over forty years. Brice loved painting, yard work, growing flowers, reading, and watching football (especially the OU Sooners).
