Bryan Lindley Searcy's Obituary
Bryan Lindley Searcy March 31, 1940 – June 17, 2016Bryan Lindley Searcy was born on March 31, 1940 in Springdale, Arkansas to Paul Brooks Searcy and Tressa O Lindley. He moved to California as a baby, but returned to Springdale to live with his maternal grandparents, Frances Marion and Willie Bryan Lindley for his high school years. Baseball and basketball were his passion, graduating from Springdale High School in 1958. As a senior, he was voted “Neatest” and “FHA Dreamboat”. Following high school, he attended Cal Poly Tech in California and Draughn School of Business in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bryan was a Sgt. E5 in the Army National Guard from 1962-1968, receiving an honorable discharge. Following his education, he worked at CreditThrift Financial Corporation in Wichita, Kansas. While there, he met and married Patricia Cheryl Caldwell on June 26, 1965. They eventually made Tulsa, Oklahoma their home. An active member of the Elks Lodge and St. Matthew’s Methodist Church, he also loved to play golf in his spare time. In November, 1990, he married Jill Phillips, eventually retiring to his home town of Springdale, Arkansas. Woodworking became a hobby and he enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the Arkansas scenery. In 2009, Bryan returned to Tulsa to reside with his daughter Sally Searcy and granddaughter Sara Graham. He loved hearing Sara’s stories and being her “Papa”.Bryan is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Lynn Murphy of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Sally Lynn Searcy of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one son, Benjamin Bryan Searcy and wife Rachel of Eads, Tennessee; a sister, Willie Etta Hambly of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; Five grandchildren, Ryan Murphy of Norman, Oklahoma, Sara Graham of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Grayson, Lindley and Adalynn Searcy of Eads, Tennessee; one great grandchild, Cruz Murphy of Norman, Oklahoma; four nephews, L.D.
