Carl Allan Arndt's Obituary
Carl Allan Arndt was born on May 27th, 1943 to Henry and Virgia Arndt. After growing up for 5 years in Detroit, his parents moved him and his 2 older siblings, Ruby and William, to Florida in 1948. While attending school in Winter Haven, FL, Carl met and began dating Margaret "Ann" Castleberry in 1959.
Carl graduated from Winter Haven High School in 1961 and immediately joined the US Army. After boot camp and a short state-side station, he was re-deployed to Okinawa, Japan, where he served the rest of his time in the Army. Carl was honorably discharged from the US Army after 3 years of service in 1964; following this, he then returned to Winter Haven, FL. Carl and Ann were wed on June 7th of 1965.
Carl and Ann lived in Central Florida for 7 years before welcoming Michael "Mickey" Arndt on Nov 5th, 1972. During their time in central Florida, Carl worked a handful of sales and service jobs while attaining his Associates Degree in Accounting. After achieving his degree, Carl worked as an accountant for a Tampa seafood packing company.
Early in 1974, Carl, Ann, and Mickey moved from Tampa, FL to the Tulsa, OK area. Carl began working for Cities Service Oil Company in 1974 soon after moving to Oklahoma, which later became Citgo Petroleum.
Carl and Ann then welcomed Andrew "Andy" Arndt on April 6th of 1978. Carl continued living in the Tulsa area and working for Citgo until he retired in 2001 at the age of 58. In his adult life, Carl had many hobbies including photography, sports (University of Florida, NY Yankees, Boston Celtics), and reading.
Carl passed away on Jan 14th, 2024 at the age of 80. He is survived by his wife Ann; his sons Mickey and wife Melanie Arndt; and Andy and wife Faith Arndt; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and his sister Ruby Wright; along with a host of other family and friends that will forever miss him.
