Carl Crandell's Obituary
Broken Arrow, Oklahoma mourns the loss of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Carl Edward “Ed” Crandell, who peacefully passed away on July 31, 2023. Born on March 21, 1934, in Clayton, Oklahoma, Ed’s family relocated to Mulberry, Arkansas where he spent the remainder of his childhood. Ed’s life was a testament to love, creativity, and a deep appreciation for nature.
Ed married his first wife, relocating from Minnesota and settling in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. They were blessed with two daughters and a son. A second marriage resulted in beloved stepchildren. After his second wife’s passing in 2003, Ed married Barbara Dill on May 7, 2005, in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Their union was a true partnership built on mutual respect, unwavering support of each other and a love of family. Their marriage brought two additional stepchildren to his life. Together, they shared countless cherished memories, and their love and devotion were an inspiration to all who knew them.
Ed had a passion for craftsmanship, and one of his greatest joys was creating beautiful dollhouses for his grandchildren. Each dollhouse was a labor of love, meticulously crafted with intricate details that brought joy to the hearts of his loved ones.
In addition to his talent as a craftsman, Ed found solace and serenity in the great outdoors. Whether casting a line into a tranquil lake or venturing into the wilderness to go hunting.
He possessed a simple and calm personality that drew people to him. Ed approached life's challenges with grace and wisdom, providing a steady presence for his family and friends.
Ed is survived by his wife Barbara, his children; daughter Cindy Adkisson, daughter Frankie Gray and significant other Steven Culberston, son David Crandell and wife Anita, and stepchildren including Jimmy Dill and wife Deanna, Everett Stacy and wife Linda, Dennis Stacy, Brenda Martin, Vicky Barnes and husband Ed, 19 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, three sisters; Dottie Langley, Mary Sue Bascue and Roxie Atwell and a host of friends and loved ones.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents, son James Edward Crandell, wife Deana Stacy, stepdaughter Kim Patterson, sisters; Aileen, Lorene and Shirley, brothers; Earl, Ray and Robert.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 12:30 PM at The Assembly at Broken Arrow (3500 W New Orleans St, Broken Arrow, OK 74011). Interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens at 1:30 PM.
