Carl Haynes' Obituary
Haynes, Carl Edgar – Beloved husband and brother died peacefully at home in Tulsa on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at the age of 84 years. He was born on October 17, 1937 in Albia, Iowa the son of Carl Leon and Lillian Mae Haynes. Carl served in the US Navy from 1956 – 1962. Duty assignments: Naval Air Station Whidbey Inland in Washington State 1956 – 1960 assigned to Heavy Attack Wing Squadron Two VAH-2 Pacific Fleet; Rota, Spain 1960 – 1962. Again, Carl would serve his country in the US Army from 1964 – 1967. During his time in the Army, he was assigned to the 3rd AVN CO./501st AVN BN “A CO”, Bien Hoa, South Vietnam from 1964 – 1965 and Ansbach, Germany in 1966. Carl moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in March of 1975 to attend the Spartan School of Aeronautics. He graduated in May of 1976 as an Aviation Maintenance Technician. After his graduation, from Spartan, Carl was employed with Saudi Arabian Airlines, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia as an Aviation Maintenance Technician Supervisor from 1976 – 1980. While he was in Tulsa, he met Patty Yocum, and they were married in December 1978 and would be together for 43 years. Carl’s interests included gardening, reading and photography. He was also an avid OU Sooners Football Fan. He is preceded in death by, Father Carl Leon Haynes, Salem, Oregon; Mother Lillian Mae (Haynes) Lint, Des Moines, Iowa; Stepmother Betty Ruth Haynes, Salem, Oregon; Brother Leland Roger Haynes, Lebanon, Oregon. He is survived by his Wife Patty Haynes of the home; Sister Margie Porter and husband Rex, Scottsdale, Arizona; Sister Carla Berrier and husband Richard, Eldors, Iowa; Stepsister Sue McFadden, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Brother Norman Haynes and wife Ann, Yellville, Arkansas; Stepbrother Roger McFadden, Canby, Oregon; Stepbrother Ron McFadden and wife Shannon, Salem, Oregon and a host of other loving family members and friends. “ A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands now rest.
