Carl M. "Mike" Alred's Obituary
Carl “Mike” Alred was born July 31, 1952 in Tulsa, OK and died at his home on October 26, 2011. Mike is the son of Carl and Margaret Alred. Mike was a Tulsa Police officer from 1972 – 1985, and currently owner of Alred Glass Company in the Tulsa area for over 32 years. Mike was one of a kind; a gentle giant, passionate about missions in South Africa, an extremely generous person and will be missed by all who came in contact with him. He was a member and Deacon at Park Plaza Church of Christ where he served on the missions team and taught Sunday school to 5th graders. He made six trips in the last five years to South Africa where he served others with the love of Christ, giving Bibles away to school children, ministering to the extreme poor and loving others as Christ loved us. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Connie Alred; daughter, Laura Kuester and husband Brian; and son, Chance Alred and daughter-in-law Lori. Grandchildren, Dylan, Olivia, Addison, Creede and Kodie adored their Papa Mike and he loved them deeply. Other living family members are Mike’s parents, Carl and Margaret; sister, Patti Alred; brother, Mark Alred and sister-in-law, Marlene, and sister, Cheryl and brother-in-law Lee Colaw. He will be missed by many other friends and family members. He touched many lives during his 59 years on this earth. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 31, 2011 at 10:00 am at Park Plaza Church of Christ with interment to follow at Floral Haven Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends at Floral Haven Funeral Home on Sunday, October 30th between 2 - 4.
