She came into the world on Nov. 6, 1926, in the city of Paramaribo, Suriname, and was christened Carla Celestine Adelide Ferrol. She was the youngest surviving child of 9 children born to Louis & Jacoba Ferrol. She had 6 brothers: Read Obituary
During her time at Faith Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Carla was a blessing. Prayers to Ruben and Carla's family.
To me Carla was my adopted aunt and friend for life. I met her in 1980 just befor Christmas in Tulsa where I was going to Bible school. She had a message from home, from my parents in Suriname, where she had just been on vacation and happened to run into my mother after many years.
Since then she became my loving aunt and provided a home away from home for me and my friends from Suriname, that went to school with me, and our new friends from the Tulsa area, whom she also welcomed in her home.
We had so much fun with auntie Carla and she loved us as if we were her daughters.
I will miss her very much, but I know she is with Jesus now.
