Carlos Escobar Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, musician, and sports enthusiast, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024, in his home in Tulsa, OK surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Juarez, Mexico, to Carlos Escobar Sr. and Lorenza Escobar.
Carlos found his lifelong partner in Blanca Estela Ibarra, and they were united in marriage on December 21, 1984, in Stinnet, Texas. Their union was a testament to love and devotion, and they shared many beautiful moments together over the years. He was a hardworking man who always provided for his family. He spent his last working years as a foreman at HEPACO
Music was a passion that ran deep in Carlos's veins, and he expressed his talent through playing drums and bass. His rhythmic beats and melodic tunes brought joy to those around him, and his musical legacy will continue to inspire others.
In addition to his musical pursuits, Carlos was an avid sports enthusiast. He had a love for baseball and was a dedicated Atlanta Braves fan. He enjoyed playing soccer with his church group and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs in the football season. As a fan of the soccer club Club America, he found joy and camaraderie in the sport that brought people together.
Carlos Escobar, beloved by all who knew him, will be forever remembered for his vibrant spirit and kind heart. His talent for quoting movies and doing spot-on impressions never failed to bring smiles and laughter to those around him. A fierce competitor at board games, he always played with enthusiasm and good humor. If he wasn’t cheating he wasn’t trying. Making every game a memorable experience.
Carlos's generosity knew no bounds, as he selflessly helped his neighbors with tasks big and small, from snow plowing driveways to mowing lawns. He was truly everyone's handyman, always ready to lend a helping hand without hesitation.
His love for his furry companions was unmatched. Kuky, his loyal chihuahua, Belly, his playful dachshund, and Luna, his sweet Maltese, brought immeasurable joy and companionship into his life.
Carlos Escobar Jr held a position of Senior Pastor and served as a church planter for two churches in Houston. A huge believer in his faith and love for his Lord Jesus Christ. These positions brought him closer to God and people around him.
In the hearts of those who knew him, Carlos Escobar's memory will continue to shine brightly, a beacon of warmth, friendship, and love. May his kindness and generosity inspire us all to live with the same grace and generosity that he exemplified in his life.
Above all, Carlos cherished his family, especially his grandchildren. Their laughter and love brought light into his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
He is preceded in death by- Mother: Lorenza Escobar, Father: Carlos Escobar Sr. Brother: Martin Escobar. Father in Law: Blas Ibarra.
He is survived by- Wife: Blanca Estela Escobar of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Children: Daughter, Erika Ray and her husband Jerrod of Aurora, Colorado. Sons, Juan Ibarra of Oklahoma City, OK. Jose Ibarra and his wife Erika from Austin, Texas. Nathan Escobar and his wife Narlin from Katy, Texas. Siblings: Ramon, Alfredo, Armando, David, Arturo, Victor, Rito, Lidia, Yolanda, Ana, and Hilda. Grandchildren: Julia Ibarra, Juan Ibarra, Felicity Ray, Miah Ibarra, Jazmynn Ray, Jaden Ibarra, Mia Ibarra, Sofia Ibarra, Jerrod Ray Jr, Cristian Escobar, Jaxon Norman-Ibarra, Eliana Escobar. Great Grandson: Jaime Ibarra.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 6th, 2024 from 2pm - 6pm at Floral Haven (6500 S. 129th E Ave. Broken Arrow, OK 74012.)
Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday, May 7th, 2024 at 2pm at Church of All Nations (13330 East 14th Street, Tulsa, OK. 74108)
