Carmela Taniguchi's Obituary
Carmela Taniguchi passed away on May 31, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK after a courageous battle with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. Carmela was born in Montorio, Italy on March 20, 1951. Her family immigrated to Canada on May 31, 1956 and lived in Thorold, Ontario until 1972. Carmela worked for Kimberly-Clark in Toronto, Ontario from 1972 to 1988, moved to Huntsville, Ontario following her marriage to Toru in 1988 and gave birth to her beloved daughter Tori in 1990. With her new family, Carmela moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1991 when Toru accepted an assignment at Kimberly Clark, Jenks. Carmela made a new home for her family here in Tulsa and became a wonderful homemaker, gourmet cook, and an enthusiastic gymnastics and soccer mom for her daughter. While working part time at Williams-Sonoma and attending Kimberly-Clark family events, Carmela developed friendships with many wonderful people. Carmela was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Ersilia Bucci. She is survived by her loving husband Toru and adoring daughter Tori, sisters Mary (Doug) and Gina, stepsons Trent and Todd, and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren in Canada. Thank you to all the caring people for your support, thoughts, and prayers during Carmela's illness. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and techs at St. Francis Hospital who provided extraordinary medical care and comfort during the past 4 months.
