Thank you, Lord for the memories Dr Carmen Smith left. I have vivid memories when she purchased her first home in Palmdale and was so proud. That’s what she did whatever she desired. She went full throttle and pursued to the end. She was a loving niece, mother, wife, and grandmother to all of her family. She was a tremendous inspiration for the whole family. She will be remembered, kind hearted always saying “I love you “… as we ended our long telephone conversations. She will be missed.

Aunt Carmen you was much more than an auntie to me you were like a mom as well. You always treated me with respect, love, and kindness I'll always cherish our times shared. Rather your laughter or story telling, sometimes jokes you knew how to captivate my imagination. Truly one of a kind and a great woman of God you lead me to the Lord Jesus Christ at a very young age and I thank you for that. I appreciate all the time an energy you've poured into my life, you will forever live on in my heart and I know you're in God hands as your soul travels on. Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the beautiful life of Dr. Carmen Maria Smith. Thank You for the love she gave, the wisdom she shared, the faith she lived, and the countless lives she touched. We are grateful for her laughter, her strength, her kindness, her service, and the way she reflected Your love to her family, friends, students, and community.
Lord, comfort every heart that grieves her passing. Surround her children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, friends, and all who loved her with Your peace. Let them feel Your presence in the days ahead and be strengthened by the precious memories Carmen leaves behind.

I remember when I first met Carmen. I had just moved in to a new neighborhood. I wasn’t particularly looking for a new friend, but Carmen kept pursuing me. When she would knock on my door I would yell down to my husband “ tell her I’m 😴 asleep”. 😴 Lo and behold she finally caught up with me at the community mailbox. lol! There was no escape! Lol. No where to run. 😂 She invited me over for coffee, and we’ve been friends ever since. My kids called l her Aunty Carmen and her’s still call me Aunty Lisa. That was over 30 years ago.

When I think of the word friend, I think of you Carmen. I’m so glad you caught me at the mailbox that day. 💕

Strong, resilient, honest and loving! Adventurous, and determined to make heaven your home.

I’ll see you again and we’ll laugh till we cry again like we always did.

But until then,

I will miss you my dear friend and sister

Lord knows, I will miss you. I won’t try to replace you. You will always be my best friend. See you in heaven!💕
