Carmine Solitario, beloved family man and passionate horse racing enthusiast, passed away October 13, 2024, in Tulsa, OK. Born on August 18, 1941, in New York City to Carmine and Mary Solitario.
Carmine’s love for horseracing was matched only by his remarkable talent for handicapping, a skill that brought him joy and excitement and entertained those around him. In his retirement, he took horseracing very seriously and would say that it was a full-time job. As an avid New York Yankees fan, he carried a deep-rooted passion for the team, sharing many memorable moments with his loved ones.
He cherished his children and grandchildren, always finding ways to support and inspire them. A true lover of Italian cuisine, Carmine enjoyed sharing delicious meals and stories, bringing family and friends together around the dinner table.
Carmine was known for his excellent unsolicited advice, which often proved to be spot on, earning him the respect and affection of all who knew him. His warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on his friends and coworkers, who will deeply miss his presence.
Carmine Solitario leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Carmine is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Battaglio Solitario, father Carmine Anthony Solitario, mother Mary DiSalvio Solitario and brother Frank Solitario.
Carmine is survived by his son Anthony Solitario and wife Lisa, granddaughter Alyssa of Keller, TX, daughter Denise White and husband Stan, granddaughters Isabella and Crystal, great grandson Jaxon of Broken Arrow, OK, daughter Sheree Walker and husband Kevin, grandson Sam of Collinsville, OK, daughter Amy Andrews and husband Ben, granddaughter Audrey of Broken Arrow, OK, honorary family Kelly and Tonya of Broken Arrow, OK, along with numerous friends and loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations to be made out to St Jude's Children Research Hospital
