Carol Sue Bowers' Obituary
Carol Sue Bowers, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend; born into this world Wednesday, July 31, 1940 in Zena, Oklahoma to her loving parents, Raymond & Pearl (Phillips) Tanner. Went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 2, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma with her loving family by her side. Born and raised in Oklahoma, Carol was very blessed to find her soul mate at a young age; on Saturday, March 8, 1958 in Miami, Oklahoma; Carol married the love of her life and they began their lives together as husband and wife. For forty-three years Carol worked as the executive administrative assistant for American General Insurance Company; eventually taking a position with Union Public Schools and remaining there until her retirement ten years later. In her free time Carol enjoyed many things such as singing, playing guitar and piano, sewing and attending church. What Carol was truly passionate about was her family and spending as much time as she could with her family and friends that she loved so dearly. Fond memories will always be cherished of Carol as she will be deeply missed by all those who had their lives touched by her. Carol is preceded in death by her loving parents, Raymond & Pearl (Phillips) Tanner; her dearly loved sisters, Shirley Morgan and Diane Harjo; her loving son, Scott Bowers and her precious granddaughter, Kimberly Turner. Carol is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-eight years, Raymond Bowers; her loving daughter, Debbie Turner; her five precious grandchildren, Jason, Christopher, Stephan, Shelby and Kylie; her twelve adored great grandchildren; her dearly loved sisters, Pat and Sanoma; her brother, Mike Tanner and numerous other nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 2:00PM at Skelly Drive Baptist Church, 8504 E Skelly Drive; Tulsa, Oklahoma 74129. A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 3:30PM at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in the “Garden of Devotion”. Services have been entrusted to Floral Haven Funeral Home, Floral Shop, Crematory & Memorial Gardens, 6500 S 129th E Avenue; Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012.
