Carol Lynn Fix's Obituary
Carol Lynn Fix was born June 21, 1955, in Indianola, IA. She was the eldest child and only daughter of Bob and Beverly Turnipseed. She passed from this life into eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, after a long and well fought battle with cancer at the age of 61 years old. Carol moved to Oklahoma in 1968 with her family and graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1973. She attended Claremore Junior College. She married Robert “Rob” Fix on November 15, 1986, and was a homemaker for most of her life. Carol loved traveling, reading, making jewelry, and arts and crafts. She and Rob were ostrich ranchers for several years. She most recently enjoyed gold prospecting and collecting rocks during their travels and attending bible studies and church activities. She was an active member of Redemption House of Prayer Nazarene Church in Pryor, OK, and loved to share Jesus with everyone. Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Turnipseed of Broken Arrow, OK; infant brother David Turnipseed of Clearlake, IA. She is survived by husband of 30 years, Robert “Rob” Fix of the home in Claremore, OK; Daughter Janice Bell and husband, Jeff of Claremore, OK; Daughter Stacie Freitas and husband, Jay, of Del City, OK; Nephews (whom she cared for as sons) Jeff Fix of Tulsa, OK; Steven Fix and wife, Rachel, of Broken Arrow, OK; Grandchildren Garrett Shepherd, Addison Bell, Jacob Freitas; Jayde Freitas; Joshua Bell, and Alyssa Bell. Great grandchildren, Austin and Piper. Father Bob Turnipseed of Broken Arrow, OK; Brother Lonnie Turnipseed and wife, Stacy, of Mannford, OK; Niece Laura Hendrix and husband, Craig; Nephew Matthew Turnipseed. Great nephew and niece, Toby and Leighanna. Many extended family members and beloved friends. Family receiving friends on Friday, June 9, 2017, from 5-8pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow. Service is planned for Saturday, June 10, 2017, 10am at Floral Haven. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to “Church Camp Scholarship Fund” at Redemption House of Prayer Nazarene Church in Pryor, OK at P.O. Box 667, Pryor, OK 74362. Carol’s mission was to make sure all youth had the opportunity to attend church camp.
