Carole Lindblad's Obituary
“Let My Lifesong Sing to You!”- Casting Crowns.Carole Ann Way Lindblad, 58, graduated to Heaven’s glory on March 15, 2017 after a brief illness. She passed while surrounded by loving family members and friends. She spent nearly four decades working in payroll and banking operations. She spent 18 years with the Tulsa Controllers Group of American Airlines before retiring in June 2015. Prior to her tenure with American Airlines, she was a banking officer with two Tulsa-based financial institutions.Carole was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on June 17, 1958 to James Fulton and Phyllis (Dolly) Way. Her father worked in the earliest days of computer technology and corporate-related family relocation were part of that industry.Carole and her big brother and sister would move with their parents to Shelton, Connecticut; Penfield and Rochester, New York; the metropolitan Kansas City area, and Boulder, Colorado before finally settling in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Carole had many passionate projects, including: volunteering for special activities related to the Arms Around Broken Arrow ministry, supporting events staged by animal rescue groups, reading, and listening to contemporary Christian music.Next to accepting Christ as her Savior and Lord in April of 1995, and marrying Elven four months later, the biggest event in Carole’s life was teaming with Elven to host 13 annual cookout/fellowship gatherings in May or June for their Bible Study class at First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow. Carole’s gracious hosting skills atoned for Elven’s attempts at cooking. Attendance nearly tripled throughout the years.Carole is survived by her husband, Elven, and their four-pawed daughter, a rescue Chihuahua by the name of Ruby. She is also survived by her sister, Sharon and husband David Merrell of Tulsa; brother, Jimmy and wife Cindy Way of Mesa, Arizona; brother-in-law, Ed and wife Dianne Lindblad, of Broken Arrow; and numerous nieces and nephews.Special thanks to The Villages at Southern Hills and Grace Hospice for their assistance during the final steps of Carole’s earthly journey. In lieu of flowers, Carole requested that donations be made to either Arms Around Broken Arrow or Animal Rescue Foundation of Tulsa.
