Carolyn Ehlers' Obituary
A Legacy of Kindness: In Memory of Carolyn Ehlers
December 27th, 1946 - December 18th, 2024
A gentle soul with a heart full of kindness, Carolyn Ehlers touched the lives of all who knew her. Born on December 27th, 1946 in Yale, Oklahoma, she spent her life spreading joy through simple acts of love and generosity.
Carolyn had a gift for making every moment special. She loved to fish, cook, and garden, filling her home with warmth and the delightful aroma of her cooking. Her family cherishes every recipe she crafted, each meal a testament to her love. Time spent with her grandchildren was precious; she especially delighted in finding good deals at yard sales with them. The grandchildren would return home, their bags filled with treasures, proudly proclaiming how their grandma never paid full price.
Her home was always open, and she was a gracious hostess who found joy in gathering family together, especially during holidays. With a soft spot for Easter, Thanksgiving, Fourth of July, and especially Christmas, she created memories that will be cherished forever. Carolyn had a fondness for her morning coffee, a full pot that she would sip throughout the day, and a special love for her puppies, especially Little Lucy Lou.
One of her favorite places was Eskimo Joe's, where she collected every anniversary shirt, holiday shirt, and every color they offered. These shirts were a symbol of the joy she found in life's simple pleasures.
Carolyn's gentle compassion and kind gestures left a lasting impact on her family and friends. She was hardworking and willing to give anything to anyone. Her legacy of kindness continues through those who loved her.
She is dearly missed by her children: John Carothers and his wife Kelli, Stephanie Childers and her husband Charlie, and Kerri Wharry and her husband Tim. Carolyn cherished her grandchildren: Haleigh Lann and her husband Michael, McKenzie Carothers, Jayce Carothers, Dylan Hamilton and his wife Emily, Kale Hamilton, Chris Childers, Kourtney Haynes and her husband Jeremiah, Keith Wharry, and Jackson Wharry. She is also survived by her siblings: brother Fred Cramer and his wife Rojeana, and sisters Sherry Mason, Jean Younger and her husband Jeff, Kay Vanmanen, and Connie Jo Low and her husband Terry.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband Roger Ehlers, her mother Anna Mae Cramer, and her father Fred Ray Cramer.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22nd, 2024, from 12 PM to 5 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will take place on Monday, December 23rd, 2024, at 2 PM at Floral Haven's Rose Chapel.
In gentle remembrance, we celebrate Carolyn's life, her loving spirit, and the kindness she shared with the world.
