Cass Alonzo Carr, Jr's Obituary
Cass Alonzo Carr, Jr was born September 6, 1929 in Tahlequah to Casswell Alonzo Carr and Loretta (Maggard) Carr. He departed this life on May 12, 2016 at his home with his family by his side at the age of 86.Cass received his high school education in Tulsa graduating from Central High School in 1948. He served five years in the United States Navy Reserve. Cass worked many jobs in pipeline and construction that took him on job locations in South America and all over the continental United States. He retired from Nordam in 1994.Cass’s favorite hobbies were vegetable gardening, riding his John Deere tractor, photography, travel, genealogy, and loved to show off walking on his hands and rope spinning to emulate his favorite childhood hero Will Rogers.Cass never met a stranger and always had a story and joke to share. He loved to sing “Oklahoma Hills” by Woody Guthrie to his children and grandchildren. He dearly loved his family and was lovingly known as Papa to his grandchildren.Cass is preceded in death by his parents Casswell and Loretta Carr; brother, Gary Carr; and sister, Carrie Cicle.Cass is survived by his wife, Jean of the home; daughter, Cynthia Woods of Seattle, Washington; and sons, Eric Carr of Austin, Texas and Troy Mason of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Aaron, Eric, Kyle, Ryan, Samuel, Shane, Daniel, Melissa, Rachel, Jacob, Benjamin, and Jonathan. Five nieces and two nephews. Eight great nieces and eleven great nephews.Memorial Service will be 12:30, Tuesday, May 17th, Floral Have Funeral Home Chapel.
