I was so sorry to hear of Catherine's passing! Catherine and I met through our jobs and became fast friends. Whenever my work took me to the Tulsa area, she opened her home to me and we had fun times together going out for dinner, to the fair or what ever happened to be going on in the area. After my stroke, she brought me meals as I recovered, arranged for dinner with the "girls" and was just a great friend. When I was no longer able to go to Tulsa, I missed her presence in my life. RIP dear Catherine ...you are missed!

I did not know Catherine well when we were growing up, but I knew well of her. I had always thought highly of her for her independence and self-assurance. When we became friends on facebook, I told her I had always admired her and she thanked me. Made me laugh. She admonished my exhausting holiday decorating, telling me about her small tree that came with decorations for every holiday so she just took one small set off to replace with the next. It was only later I learned that, while that suited her no nonsense persona to a tee, she did not have energy to waste on the frivolities due to her autoimmune disorders. It was not that that was a secret but that she was not using it as an excuse when there were better reasons as well. Quintessential Catherine. I will miss her presence in my life and on the planet.
