Cathryn Link Winett-Sparks' Obituary
Cathryn Link Winett-Sparks, 55, of Tulsa died peacefully at home, Friday, June 18, 2004. She retired three years ago as General Manager of Floral Haven Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, where she helped build the family business for over 25 years. Cathe was instrumental in developing the Annual Avenue of Flags at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. With the help of Neva Jennings, Assistant Council Commissioner, she began the tradition of the Boy Scouts of the Indian Nations Council retiring the colors on Memorial Day 19 years ago. Over the years this has grown from 20 to more than 1400 Scouts and their families, and offers these young people an opportunity to honor those who have served our nation in the military. She was born May 28, 1949 in Great Bend, Kansas. She is survived by her husband, Steve Sparks;parents, Richard & Joan Link;4 sons;Joe Winett and wife Kristi of Tulsa, Ok, Andy Winett of New York City, Chad Sparks of Topeka, KS, Todd Sparks of San Francisco, CA;3 sisters, Cheryl and husband Steve Moeller of Broken Arrow, OK, Cindy and husband Mike Rudolph of Stilwell, KS, Connie and husband Kevin Kelsey of Broken Arrow, OK;3 grandchildren, Jordyn Winett, Josh Winett, Cole Sparks;5 nephews and 2 nieces. Funeral Service will be 4:00 P.M., Monday June 21, 2004 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow, Ok. Contributions can be made to the Indian Nations Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
