Cathy Joan Hobson's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Our Beloved Cathy Joan Hobson
January 21st, 1950 - January 5th, 2025
Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to our cherished Cathy, who passed away on January 5th, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on January 21st, 1950, also in Tulsa, Cathy filled our lives with joy, warmth, and her ever-present smile.
She never met a stranger and always surrounded herself with good people. Cathy's generous spirit knew no bounds; she would give anything to anyone, including the shirt off her back. Her sons fondly remember her always smiling, a reflection of her joyful spirit.
She loved dancing, especially line dancing, and could often be found on the dance floor sharing laughs and making memories. Fishing brought her peace, and she treasured visiting with family and friends, especially during the holidays. Christmas was her favorite time, and she took great joy in decorating her Christmas tree and bringing everyone together.
Cathy loved to have her nails done and even insisted her son cut her hair before a hospital visit. She found solace in listening to Pastor Willy George, and her faith was a cornerstone of her life.
Cathy is survived by her loving sons, Allen Sullivan Jr and wife Lynnia, Brian Sullivan, and Christopher Sullivan; her dear sister Debby Helt; her brother Jerry Avey; and her cherished grandchildren, Cara, Alexis, Devin, Cameron, Aidan, and Madison Sullivan; as well as her great grandchildren Cayden Sullivan, Claire Clark, and Maybelle Medeiros.
She is reunited in heaven with her mother, Dorris Avey, and her brothers Larry, Steve, and Billy Avey, who preceded her in death.
Her loyal, generous, humble, and compassionate nature touched all who knew her. Cathy's absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved.
We invite family and friends to celebrate Cathy's life. A two-day visitation will be held at Floral Haven, starting on Thursday from 4-7 PM and continuing through Friday from 4-7 PM. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday at 12:30 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
We will forever cherish the memories we've made with Cathy. She was always smiling, always giving, and always loving. Until we meet again, her laughter and love will echo in our hearts.
