With only two years age difference, we were like two peas in a pod growing up. Our mother would spend hours sewing us matching outfits. We spent a lot of time at the McClure swimming pool and Parkey’s skating rink...even taking formal skating lessons. Cathy had beautiful olive colored skin like our dad and would have beautiful tans in the summer that I was quite envy of. She was a gorgeous lady. We always shared a bedroom together and had many conversations in that room. Our older brother Chris was quite ornery to us girls. One day while visiting our Nana in Pryor our brother came running back to the house to tell my parents that Cathy had fallen off the top of a tall slide in the park down the street and was hurt. She had a pretty bad break in her arm and we always wondered if he had any part in that mishap:-). We knew he loved us though.
We both married our high school sweethearts within 9 months of each other and began our families. Our father passed away about a year later and we spent much time together with our mother.
I will be forever be grateful for the loving care Cathy gave to our mother as her main caregiver when our mother came down with Alzheimer’s. It was a most difficult time in our life’s to watch our mother go through this horrible disease.
I will dearly miss our times together going to lunch, shopping and just hanging out that we have been blessed to share over the years. I am at peace knowing that you are in the hands and care of Jesus with no more pain and also being joined together again with Tim, our parents and brother. Also knowing that our good Lord will reunite the two of us again when he is ready for me to complete my earthly life.
Love you much sis❤️!!
