Cathy Lynne Shealy's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cathy Lynne (Sage) Shealy, born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 13, 1954, and departed this world peacefully from her Bixby, Oklahoma residence on May 13, 2024, with her loving family by her side.
Many knew her as Cathy, some as Aunt Cathy or mom, sis, chatty Cathy, dudette. A seemingly endless stream of people in Berryhill knew her as Tincy’s daughter. But you could never call her "Cat" because she vehemently hated those.
Cathy was born to the late Harold Martin Sage and Leveda Flora Sage (Snyder). Born in Tulsa, she grew up in Berryhill, OK, alongside her sister, Belinda. Cathy kept busy as a kid, riding bikes, twirling batons or playing tetherball. But she had an ornery side, also, having once blown off her fingernail after holding a firecracker for just a little too long.
After graduating from Berryhill High School, she worked at several places before making her way to NORDAM where she did a number of jobs. Cathy also attended company happy hours, as there she would meet her best friend and the absolute love of her life, Bill Shealy, who she charmed with her quick wit, beauty and humor. She would leave NORDAM in 1998 for what was her favorite job ever: becoming a mother, eventually adopting two daughters, Emma and Erin. Much like NORDAM, in motherhood she did several jobs as well. Cook, chauffeur, nurse, tutor, laundry-washer, cheerleader and biggest supporter. Growing up in her house meant growing up in a house full of love and laughter.
Cathy was known to start a conversation with practically anyone, from cashier to waitress. You could always expect to be around for an extra fifteen minutes so she could finish her conversation. Cathy was a true light in this world, touching the lives of many with her kindness and warmth. She will be forever missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Cathy’s memory lives on with her husband, Bill Shealy, and her daughters, Emma Shealy and Erin Shealy, all of Tulsa, OK; her sister Belinda Green of Berryhill, OK; her brother-in-law, Robert Shealy of Kittanning, PA and a plethora of nieces and nephews.
