Mark and I attended John Calvin Presbyterian Church with Don & Avis for about thirty five years. We enjoyed visiting with them on Sunday mornings. We were at the service on Friday. We loved the stories that Chuck, Cheryl, Annette and Mike told about their parents, their childhoods, and their vacations. What a great family!! Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the Bilyeus.
Our thoughts & prayers will be with you, especially through today’s service. Sorry, couldn’t make trip.
At the risk of Uncle Dave seeing this, :), I will have to say that Uncle Don was my favorite….He was a good listener and truly cared about you and what was going on in your life…..I will miss him and am so sad about his passing. I know this will be so hard for all of y’all…..Please know that I am praying for your comfort and look forward to seeing you on Friday.
I became friends with Don through our employment with American Airlines. He was in Engineering and I was in Human Resources. We had occasion to communicate on personnel issues. I continued to provide retirement services to AA employees after I retired. I had the honor and privilege to provide that service to Don when he decided to retire. We had another connection with my husband, Glenn, and his son, Mike. Glenn was track coach at Nathan Hale High School when Mike was at Hale and was on the track team. After retirement I moved into the same community as Don and Avis. I could walk across from my house and look down on the Bilyeus. I am so thankful to have known Don as a friend.
Avis and family, Keeping you close in thought and prayers. Much love, David & Billinda Ittner

Oh Grandpa, what a sweet legacy you leave. Ill never forget your toast at my wedding, the dance we had together, the way grandma monitored your sugar intake, and how you told me to keep laughing…”its the elixir of life, kiddo”.
Don was a very devoted husband to his wife Avis. There was nothing he wouldn’t do to try and make life better for her. Don was a great friend and I cherished my conservations with him. His family should be proud of the legacy that he has left. Prayers for the family during this time.
