Charissa and I reported to work about the same time, the place was pretty empty so it would just me and her for awhile. We joked about our life choices, work issues or just how we felt that day. Her laugh was infectious, but it was her calm and friendly manner that just made you glad you got to speak to her that day! I truly miss her and I am truly glad I got a chance to meet her and know her.

When I relocated here to Oklahoma with work, there was one thing certain and another for sure; that Charissa and I would share a friendship and a bond that no one would or could understand but us. She was my friend from the day we met. There was nothing we could not talk about, and that doesn't happen very often. There are only a few people given to us in this world that truly transcend any barriers and are a genuinely good person. I have missed our daily talks, but I know all too well that you are at peace and in no more pain, and for that I am grateful. I pray that your family finds peace knowing that you were ready, because if not trust me.... you were stubborn and would have stayed.
Charissa and I worked together for several years. She was fun to be around. Sometimes our lunches would line up and we would have interesting meaningful conversations sprinkled with humor. Rest in peace my friend.
My heart aches, but probably more so for your family and the fact that you are no longer here with us physically. I know with all my heart and my faith, that you received a glorious homecoming when you met our Lord and Savior, Jesus. I will miss your smile, your amazing kindness, whether it was sharing Hershey’s kisses or miniature Reese’s cups or meeting during busy times on breaks and doing our little silly hip bumps, or your infectious laugh...
You were more than a co-worker and teammate, you were a friend and a sister in Christ! You are loved and you are missed, thank you for the footprints forever in my heart!
How does one put a lifetime into a paragraph? I'll just say - I'm thankful you were MINE! Though we were cousins, you were much like a sister to me because we were so close in age. Oh, the things we did at Grandma Protzman's house that nobody else knows but me and you! As we grew up, we got busy doing our own things, but we were always there for each other. I am really gonna miss that. I will treasure in my heart the memories we made on our recent trip to Branson! Thanks for taking off work and going with me even though your knees were hurting so bad. Thanks for eating at Lamberts and Pasghetti's with me, for going to Silver Dollar City, for just hanging out in the condo! One more thing ... I am truly grateful for the time God gave us together since the awful stroke last July, even though it was a struggle for you. God spoke to me through you during those months.

Someone once told me that missing someone that was suffering is selfish, well I guess I am selfish then because I miss you Charissa. I know that you are filling heaven with your laughter looking down on your family that you cherished so much and that brings me peace.
I miss your humble excitement when you achieved goal after goal. You never wanted attention for your achievements which must be why God put me in your path so I could put the spotlight on you that you so earnestly deserved. And that laugh though – anytime it echoed across our department it made me smile. It still does.
