Charlie lived a life marked by integrity, honesty, and service. After graduating from Fort Scott schools, he attended Pittsburg State College, where he earned his master's degree in education. Charlie enjoyed a rich and active life outside of his work and service. He was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman, and he found great joy in horse racing. He was also a proud member of the “Canadian Fishing Club,” a cherished group of friends that included John Blair, Tom Ames, and Henry Parker. Their adventures and camaraderie were among his fondest memories.
