Charles Alvin Brooks' Obituary
Charles Alvin Brooks, 74, of Broken Arrow, died on Sunday, September 7, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, in Broken Arrow, OK. Charles was born on July 17, 1940, in Little Rock, AR, the son of J.C. and Maxine (Newcomb) Brooks. He grew up in that area and graduated from Little Rock Central High School. He served our country in the Air National Guard. He was a business owner throughout his life, retiring in 2010, after serving the public for 50 years. His hobbies included singing, dancing, arts and crafts. Charles will be remembered as a generous, kind, caring, funny, and intelligent man who loved his family, and was extremely proud of his children, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter. He enjoyed talking with people and making their day happier. He is survived by his son, Chris Brooks, and his wife, Lisa, of Broken Arrow, Tony Brooks, and his wife, Laurie, of Edmond, granddaughter, Chrystal Brooks-Cole, and great-granddaughter, Crislyn Cole, both of Glendale, CA, brothers, J.C. Brooks, of Little Rock, AR, Cleve Brooks, of Searcy, AR, and Ben Brooks, of Spanish Fort, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Phyllis.
