Duane was proud to be educated through the Tulsa Public Schools, Pershing Elementary, Roosevelt and Madison Junior Highs and a 1961 Tulsa Central School graduate.
Upon graduation from Central, he misled his mother into signing his enlistment papers for the US Air Force. He proudly served from June 1961 until September 2, 1965, in Texas and Washington state. He was honorably discharged on his mother's birthday. He returned to Tulsa where the confirmed bachelor met his future love, Debbie, through Easton Heights Baptist. They were married on August 12, 1966 and immediately moved to Dayton, Ohio for NCR computer school. Returning to Tulsa, he began his professional life and doting on his two children.
Duane worked at NC for 15 years in Tulsa then began employment at Seismograph Service Company and Schlumberger. He reluctantly transferred to his temporary homes in Houston in 1990, Denver, CO, in 1998, then Dallas for 7 1/2 years. At his retirement in 2007, he and Debbie moved back home until he was called to his Eternal Home on July 7, 2023. Through each new temporary location, he found enjoyment, adventure and a common thread through service in the churches as a deacon, teacher and church treasurer.
He enjoyed traveling to Europe several times which began by an invitation from sweet friends in his Houston church. He delighted visiting new grandsons as they were born and traveling to Oklahoma, Georgia, Virginia, Massachusetts, Canada and Texas with them to watch them play their sports, receive awards, graduations or taking them on fun adventures. After retirement, he enjoyed being on the lake with his daughter and husband. His last trip was with son and wife on a cruise to Alaska and Canada, in May.
Duane, Butch, Charlie, Dad, Papa, Great Papa's life meant so much to all of his family, sisters, nieces, nephews. He is greatly missed.
Gods spiritual gift to Duane was serving others - which he did gladly.

"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39
