Charles "Chuck" Edward Buntin's Obituary
Charles “Chuck” Edward Buntin
Charles “Chuck” Edward Buntin, 84, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on January 21, 1942, in Ludlow, Missouri, he was the beloved son of Earnest Minnis Buntin and Darlene Fay (Hughes) Buntin. Though named Charles, everyone knew and loved him simply as Chuck.
A hardworking and steady man throughout his life, Chuck built his career on the road. As a young man, he enlisted in the United States Army and spent his service years in Alaska—an experience that shaped his discipline, resilience, and sense of responsibility. After returning home, he spent many years driving for Greyhound before continuing his career as a truck driver for several companies, including JB Hunt, where he proudly earned a Million Miles award. His work ethic was unwavering, and he took great pride in providing for his family.
Chuck was a Godly man whose faith guided every part of his life. A devoted Christian, he cherished Bible study and continually sought to deepen his relationship with the Lord. His kindness, humility, and quiet strength were reflections of his deep and abiding faith.
On September 21, 2002, Chuck married the love of his life, Donna, in Chelsea, Oklahoma. Their marriage was a true partnership—faithful, devoted, and filled with mutual respect. Together they built a life grounded in love, faith, and family.
Chuck was a loving father, grandpa, and great-grandpa who found joy in simple, meaningful moments with those he cherished. When he wasn’t working, weekends often found him on his motorcycle, embracing the freedom of the open road and the peace it brought him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Donna Buntin; his daughters, Tanya Taillon and Maria Whittmore; his cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Zachary, Amanda, and Lane; great-grandchildren, Dominic, Michael, Jean-Baptiste, Scott, Sophie, Alexander, Jack and Theo; his brother, Carlos Buntin; and his sister, Sherry “Sis.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest M. Buntin and Darlene F. Buntin; and his sister, Janice.
Chuck will be remembered with deep love and gratitude by all who knew him—for his steadfast spirit, his gentle heart, and the faith that carried him throughout his life.
