So sweet, Cathy!
A large part of my childhood memories were spending weekends with Mr Eaton as he putzed around in the garage. He often was doing wood working projects and it intrigued me so he would always explain what he was doing without hesitation no matter how often I asked the same questions. He also had an old car that he was always working on ( I forget the model now) but that is how I learned to work on the old gas engines of the 70's, 80's etc.I don't get back to Tulsa very often but always looked forward to running into him when I did a drive-by of my childhood home. He was always excited to see me and ask how life was going.Today he passed away. For 25 years I have dealt with death on a daily basis and I accept it happens to us all, but some just really hurt. We all grow up and move on but I have always missed those garage weekends.I would be remiss to not express my sincere thoughts and condolences to Suzy Jackson. She lost her brother 2 years ago and now her mother and father within months of each other.Your father was very special to me!Kevin Satkus
Here's what I know and have in common with my friend, Chuck Eaton: We both came from California to start with AA in 1966. Chuck had attended the University of Wyoming and knew my birth father, who was a professor there. Chuck was a private pilot when renting Cessnas was cheap. Chuck flew me to play golf in exotic places like Paul's Valley Oklahoma, and Rogers Arkansas. Chuck was a laid back, good sense of humor type of guy, and a great friend.Larry Chisum
I'm so sorry to hear about Mr. Eaton passing away. He was a staple in the neighborhood, always working on something outside or in the garage. He always had time for the neighborhood kids(me included) watching what he was doing and answering non-stop questions. Quite a few years ago I got in touch with him again and we kept in touch over email. He was such a caring man and he will be missed. Cathy Satkus
