Reflection of the Life of Charles E. FreemanCharles Edward Freeman was born on September 6, 1934 to Mervin and Maudie Ree Freeman. He was the oldest of five children. He was known to some as Dooney and some by Charlie. On Monday, June 18, 2018 Charles received his wings.Charles was raised in Red Bird, Oklahoma. He gave his life to Christ at a young age. As an active member of St John Baptist Church he taught Sunday school, served on the deacon Board and sang in the Brotherhood choir. In his later years he joined Grace Church where he studied in ministering class.Charles met and married Alice Faye Hunt. They enjoyed a wonderful marriage for 62 years and were blessed with 4 beautiful children. He served his country in the United States Army. He worked for Nelson’s Buffeteria and retired there after being employed over 50 years. He was named the original “Soup Nazi” because he could serve over 300 people within minutes.He was preceded in death by his father Mervin Freeman, his mother Maudie Ree Freeman, a son Baby Boy Freeman and a sister Sandra Ward. He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving and devoted wife Alice Freeman; 3 sisters, Mary Woodard, Carla Freeman and Kelley Chambers (Kyrus); 1 son Donald Freeman, 2 daughters, Glenda Gray (Terrance), Tracy Price (Curtis) and a godson Robert Wilkinson; 10 grandchildren: Jenna Willyard (Jack), Malea Rae Freeman, Devon Freeman, LaTasha Strong, Terrico Bethel, Delrico Bethel, Curtis Price, and Ashley Price; 4 great-grandchildren, Jamison, Harrison, Amirah, Amani, Kailyn and Tahkari; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends. He will truly be missed by all.Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 27th, Floral Haven Funeral Home.Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 28th, Grace Church with committal service to follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
