Charles Halbrooks' Obituary
Charles Halbrooks, 86 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, October 5, 2018 in a Tulsa hospital. He was born April 22, 1932 in Eram, Oklahoma to the late James Willard Halbrooks and Vera Chrisler Halbrooks.Charles graduated high school and then went on to serve his country in the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. After his military service he went to trade school to receive special training to be a diesel mechanic. After his training he worked as a diesel mechanic for United Engines and Twin City Ready Mix. Charles loved to play softball, go camping in his trailer with family and you would often find his at the Friday Night Opry in Tulsa to listen to music. He also enjoyed going to stock and sprint car races.Charles is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Hattie Halbrooks of the home; one son, Ricky Halbrooks and wife Teresa of Claremore, Oklahoma; one brother, Leon Halbrooks and wife Annie of Harrah, Oklahoma; two sisters, Lois Gerhard and husband Loyd of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Ethel Thompson and husband Alvin of Morris, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Adam Smith, Jennifer Smith, Tyler Halbrooks, Whitney Halbrooks, and Zac Halbrooks; two great-grandchildren, Mason Harris and Bentley Harris; and sever nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Olen, Troy and Dale Halbrooks and one sister, Geraldine Fredric.Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Floral Haven Funeral Home and services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Catoosa, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Foundation.
